On 25 February 2021, due to the coronavirus, the IX. Annual Conference of the Hungarian Energy Traders Associations' was held online. 441 people registered for the event.
The conference was opened by the chairman of the HETA, Balázs Felsmann, hosted by Richard Hlavay (MAVIR). The keynote speech was given by Attila Steiner, state secretary (ITM), followed by a presentation by László Varró, chief economist (IEA). At the conference, Péter Horváth, president of the HEA, provided information on the regulatory aspect to electricity and gas traders. A number of international experts have accepted the participation. The conference covered, among other things, the practical experiences on operation of aggregators, the actualities in the ancillary services and reserve markets, the gas market trade routes in transition, the costs of energy traders in the CEE region, the new electricity market trends in wholesale (with Hungarian and CEE overviews) and network, system management and market operation development in the Hungarian electricity TSO MAVIR. Representatives of the European energy trading associations took part in the final roundtable discussion of the conference. The greatest interest was followed by a discussion on the introduction of the Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme in Hungary with Dr. Barbara Boros, deputy state secretary (ITM) and Dr. Csaba Nemes, Head of Department (MEKH).
