The Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority has published the following notice on its website:
The extreme price situation in the gas market has unprecedented consequences for both domestic gas traders and consumers. In the interest of security of supply, the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority (HEA) calls on natural gas traders to provide their customers with timely offers that are appropriate to their risk rating, and on the gas consumers concerned not to delay the conclusion of their gas contracts in order to avoid the consequences of not buying without a contract and possible disconnection from the service."
HETA member companies will do their utmost to "act responsibly and prudently in the last weeks of the trading campaign and ensure, within their financial means, that all clients receive a timely offer appropriate to their risk rating", in line with the HEA call. "They should also inform consumers in a broad and timely manner of the current terms of their offers, which have changed due to the market situation."
